Salkantay Trek 5 Days

Day 01:

Cuzco - Cruz pata - Soraypampa.

Pick up from your hotel at 05:00 a.m. Our transportation will take us to Cruz Pata (2,800 masl / 9,186 feet). After 3 hours of travel, we will arrive at Cruz pata, where we will meet our muleteers. and horses, from this place, we will begin our walk, we will have approximately 6 hours walking through the traditional Andean communities as well as Challacancha that preserves its natural beauty, in the direction of Soraypampa. In the afternoon we will visit Lake Humantay, at 4,250 m.a.s.l. A wonderful place.Overnight in Soraypampa.

Day 02:

Soraypampa - Chaullay.

After breakfast, we will start our hike for around 4 hours climbing the highest pass (4,650 masl / 15,255 feet), we will be able to enjoy the most impressive views of Salkantay (6,272 masl / 20,577 feet). We will continue through the spectacular mountains and observe the Humantay Huayanay. We will also see small ponds. After a long descent, we will arrive at our camp in Chaullay (2,950 masl / 9,678 ft) 2nd camp.

Day 03:

Chaullay - Playa.

After breakfast, we will walk to the beach. On the way, we will enjoy a pleasant tropical jungle climate and we will be able to see coffee plantations, bananas and other fruits, including some beautiful orchids. We will make a brief stop for lunch in Lluscamayu, we will continue our walk, arriving at our third camp "La Playa / The Beach".

Day 04:

"La Playa" - Santa Teresa - "Aguas Calientes".

Early in the morning after our breakfast, we will take a local transport to go to Santa Teresa, and then we will continue walking towards Machu Picchu “Hidroeléctrica”. Here, we will have two options to take the train or walk 2 hours to reach Aguas Calientes de Machu Picchu where we will stay in a hotel.

Day 05:

Machupicchu - Cuzco.

After having breakfast at our hotel, we will take one of the first buses that will take us to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. At the control point we will present our original document and our tickets to Machu Picchu. The tour is usually about 2 hours. To get off, we will use the bus to "Aguas Calientes" to take our train back to Ollantaytambo and then transport to Cuzco where they will be dropped off at your hotel.
